What does your identity mean to you?
Not ‘gay’ as in ‘good as you’ but ‘queer’ as in ‘fuck your heteronormative assumptions about my life’.
I identify as gay primarily, but also recognise that my sexual desires are becoming more fluid as I get older. I adopt queer to capture all permutations of gender and sexuality that I may exhibit and also to show allegiance and kinship with trans and non-binary people, however they identify their sexuality.
