The IDENTITY Project

New portrait photography exhibition in John Lewis London for LGBTQIA+ History Month

Proud Studios CIC and award-winning photographer Chris Jepson are delighted to present an exhibition of new work for LGBTQIA+ History Month in collaboration with the Pride in the Partnership network at the John Lewis Partnership.

John Lewis is a British institution. The brand arrived on the UK high street in 1864 as a small draper’s shop and has become one of Britain’s best-loved brands. As a Partnership, all employees have a say in the running of the business and a share in profit, knowledge and power, and the motto of its LGBTQIA+ network, Pride in the Partnership, is ‘when you’re free to be yourself, you’re at your best and when you’re at your best, there is no limit to what you can achieve in your career’.

The Identity Project – JLP Edition is a unique collaboration that celebrates the diversity within the John Lewis Partnership by capturing the portraits and stories of its LGBTQIA+ Partners.

In probably a first for a major UK high street brand, the project will be on display in a public gallery at the flagship John Lewis Oxford Street store for LGBTQIA+ History Month, spotlighting the rich tapestry of identities within the organisation, emphasising the diverse, inclusive and supportive environment fostered by the Partnership.
