The IDENTITY Project

Graham, Brighton, UK

Graham Munday

Scene Queen, kinkster, gaymer, joyous bad dancer, wannabe bear, rugby supporter and lover of dark chocolate, Graham is originally from Brighton but, after public school and a stint in London, didn’t fully returned until 2011.

He has always found solace in the LGBTQ+ scene. His gay friends were, and still are, his family and he believes in standing up for them and the rights of others.

Now Chair of Brighton Bear Weekend and Mr Brighton Bear which both proudly support The Brighton Rainbow Fund he feels lucky to live in Brighton and continuously in awe of the talented and generous people with whom he works to make the events happen throughout the year.

What does your identity mean to you?

I am happy to be a gay man and feel my life would be less and duller if I weren’t. It hasn’t always been easy, but I have found beautiful moments I would never dream of if I was heterosexual and lived in suburbia.

I am continuously jumping out of pigeon holes to confuse the locals, but at heart, I am still a confused chameleon who listens to the birds.
