The IDENTITY Project

Ambulance Crew, Brighton, UK

Adam Mason

Married to Lt Cdr Craig Jones MBE, Royal Navy, they became the first out couple in the Armed Forces. After a period as the Chief Executive of a psychiatric hospital in 2005, he created Brighton and Sussex Care, which employed 100 Staff and supported 30 service users but felt a craving to get back to his roots so sold the business and is now training to be a paramedic.

What does your identity mean to you?

I am a mild and quiet person, but passionate about helping people. I am quietly proud to be gay and pleased to find my way in society being a role model for those who wish to live their lives with pride but without fanfare. Cheering on the folks who live their lives in rainbows but sometimes from the crowd rather than on the stage.
