Tim Sigsworth
In 1988 when Tim lost his family just for being who he really is, he turned to Queer focused activism and volunteering at a pivotal time in LGBTQ+ history.
Following a career in social work specialising in mental heath, where he witnessed the pathologising of peoples sexuality and gender identity, he channeled his activism through a career with various LGBTQ+ charities, working across HIV / sexual health, mental health and homelessness for over 23 years and is currently Chief Executive at akt, supporting LGBTQ+ young people aged 16-25 in the UK who are facing or experiencing homelessness or living in a hostile environment.
What does your identity mean to you?
A hard won battle which personally started with losing one family and creating my own and publicly finding a lifetimes adventure as a queer activist.
