Maria Baker
Proud of her mixed race heritage, Maria is a self-professed lipstick lesbian who loves working with people and has owned, managed and run bars and clubs in Brighton for many years. For the last 9 years she had worked at a private fertility clinic and learnt phlebotomy. More recently, during Covid she has been working for Luxury Leather Company ‘Coach’. She loves the diversity of people in Brighton and the layers of this life, is happily married to her wife and living her best life!
What does your identity mean to you?
It took me a while to realise the empty feeling inside me was actually that I wasn’t living the life I should. I am now who I am supposed to be and I am happy and proud to be that person.
