Aneesa Chaudhry
A popular singer on the jazz and world music scene, Aneesa performs with a variety of bands including her 9 piece Aneesa Chaudhry Mini Big Band and several full big bands of up to 20 players. She recorded her album Duende with her Eastern Flavours Band including Uruguayan percussionist Andres Ticino, and Latin Jazz pianist, John Crawford. She also enjoys bringing together Eastern European and Asian influence sounds of piano and flute with BLISS ART. She is an accomplished solo artist too.
Aneesa runs singing and public speaking workshops and is currently Musical Director of 5 choirs and is passionate about people enjoying using their voices and feeling empowered to make a difference.
What does your identity mean to you?
My identity has shaped the life I live and the work I do. I have a sense of duty to my LGBTQ+ family to be visible, to make a stand as a British, Asian, not straight woman and leader in my field of work.
